You know, you could always just use the magic eraser to start, or the magic wand tool. Your way is a bit complicated

 

i agree with Darthmaul, you should use magic eraser or magic wand tool to start its more easy not complicated, but nice vid sir

 

Both ways are totally effective, but then again nothing is complicated and it works perfectly.

Thanks for sharing your video, but I find it a bit complicated. It is easier if you’ll just use the magic eraser tool especially if the background has only one color. You can remove the background in just one click.

The magic wand is the best tool to use for something like this, then clean up with the eraser tool.

 

It's just another effective way, and I have created a thread with magic wand tool.

The magic wand is great but incredibly inaccurate at the best of times. The magic wand and the content-aware fill functions are those 'smart and cool' features that don't really have a place in the high quality digital design world.
