Restaurant Reservations

Hi,

Trying to build a restaurant reservation website for a specefic city / country
Something like
http://www.toptable.co.uk/
http://www.opentable.com/

A website that helps the visitors book a table in a specefic restaurant,
and a dashboard (I guess) for restaurant owners to check and manage the reservations ...

Just got the idea so still in the preliminary stages ..

Any idea / suggestion about a script and how to go from here is really appreciated ..

You should able to do this pretty easily with wordpress and something like this

Sorry tad early for me. I believe the one from code canyon would work. Its simply a matter of sorting out user roles with something like a membership plugin or role scoper.

I will poke around a sec and advise you accordingly.

Yeah tad vexing but I get where you are headed. At a glance this will do it "I think"
http://themeforest.net/item/forked-responsive-restaurant-events/5157819 I need to read the comments and likely check for something on the front end that will handle owner registrations if you will. That and restricting them to their own page is the hurdle here though the latter is fairly easy.

This allows custom headers so each restaurant would look different etc. but still not ideal.

but more local, like for a specefic city / country ..

I guess I'll be contacting restaurant owners one by one for registration, but I'm miles away from that now ..

Just had the idea, and I need a software / plugin that I canbuild something from .. something to build upon ..

 

Ok I follow. It may take a sec to figure out how to bolt a few things together but a few thoughts that are slightly different.... I only throw this out there because I am not entirely sold that folks would or need to actually make the reservation online unless its entirely mobile as well.

Some benefits here or the business model if you will, is that you can populate the site with some restaurants or what have you and owners can claim listings, you can sell packages to them etc.

My plan, at least, is to manually add a few restaurants on good streets and then manually sell packages or listings to their neighbors. Just thinking out loud really. If you can bake in reservations to listing pages you would actually have something much nicer and logistically speaking this is easier to launch locally since you can put boots on the ground to sell some stuff.

But again, just thinking out loud. I am not entirely alert yet lol..

Yes that would be easier to launch, but I was thinking to make something in between,
Meaning that I do all the listings and include each restaurant I want (that will make launching the website easier) and at the same time provide "online reservation" service for restaurant owners that want to include the "book your table online" option in their listings ...

these specefic restaurants will be in a featured category, and will get more exposure ...


Locally this niche has great potential ..
OpenTable is dominating north america and begins to have presence in europe, but everywhere else there is room to play ! So yeah get on it ! .. your city / country will be a good start ..

 

Ok it looks like the open table of latin america just secured millions in funding so I may be mistaken here but.. here is a full on clone of said functionality. Its a tad pricey but at a glance does a ton of stuff.

Glad I could help a bit. At a glance that stuff looks pretty sound to me. Usually clones of anything are complete crap. Those folks seem to actually care about what they are doing.
