Review: Be Brutally Honest!

    Hey guys,

my website can be found at www.freebunch.com

At the moment i'm averaging 1250 UV, 7000 hits and $8,5 a day.
To be honest i have no idea whether this is good or not, for this theme.

Since most of my traffic go to the games part, some feedback there would be great.

However, any feedback and improvement ideas on the ad placements would be awesome!

Honestly, I don't like the yellow, but for the adsense but a white backgrorund, white border and a blue title, and brown text to match your links. Should work better.

I think it is nice clean site. Where do you get income from - I didn't see any adsense or Y ads or anything alike - or did you blend in super well that my critical eyes couldn't notice?

Update: I just remembered - the company I work at installed firewall blocking adsense - this happened about 2-3 weeks ago - no wonder I didn't see your ads :)

your homepage ad units seem to be OK, however I think you could improve clicks by adding a rectangle into the main content.

On the other pages of the site I see a massive potential for you to get probably 2x the clicks you currently are on them pages.

Personally I'm not too keen on the yellow - it doesn't show up well on my monitor at all. I think you increase ctr by adding a content unit into the body of the listings, maybe structure the listings so they look the same as the google ads and ad the ad unit on top this would dramatically increase click throughs

The yellow made my eyes not want to look at it :) It kind of created a boarder for me, I also didn't see your ads at first but I found them, But I wouldn't have looked uptop personally because of the bright yellow.

as for your UV, My site has been around since the beginning of September and now I averaged 12,000 in November and I'm currently at 4,000 in the past 5 days of December I'm not sure how long you're site has been around, some more stats would be nice :) Hope all this helps! You said be brutally honest :)

Given the amount of hits you specify, there's a definite potential to earn more than that in a day.

Awesome feedback. Guys, can you tell me whether it's the simply the yellow layout on my website that creates a bad effect - or only the yellow boardered google ads. I'm willing to change the layout colour if it create an unfriendly effect.

My site has been live for almost a year now. It's my first site and i made ALOT of mistakes with it. I only recently really enjoyed an increase in traffic, until a few month ago it was nothing above 200 UV's aday.

Thanks for being brutally honest ;)

In my opinion the yellow needs to go, make it a darker color so that your eyes don't hurt when looking at the pages.

I would also remove the Link Unit and put it on the navigation side instead, people are more likely to click on the links inside your navigation bar. Good luck :)

I'd also change that bright yellow. And I'd also change all the links to blue color (including Adsense).. I'm sure your revenue could be much better with some additional tweaking ( colors, ad placement...).

I don't like the yellow so its a good thing thats gone. =) The site looks good I don't know if it was like this for anyone else, but when you hit the main page your kind of bombarded with links everywhere, this might be good as people will mistakingly click on your ads, but at the same time all the links might drive away users.

Your off to a great start keep up the good work and good luck!

Yellow is just too light. You definately, need some contrasting background.
OR may be it just me, because I am not chinese :D

Yep, I say change the yellow also. I'd also make the Google Ads have no border around them, which should result in higher CTRs. Also, another leaderboard at the bottom of the page wouldn't hurt, and try adding some more visuals.
