    You may want to remove the older posts link on top of your posts to below so that you can create a clean consistent margin from your top horizontal link unit.

    Based on my experience, side ad unit does not work anymore.. unless you have massive traffic.. I would suggest you to blend in a box format into every post (via float technique) to increase your CTR :)

    It is better to place ads on Header than putting it on Footer. Header ads give more revenue, and merely some cents you can get from Footer ads.
