    I think it would work out perfectly if you placed an ad in the news area (but remove the news heading so its not against TOS)

    I think it would be better to have forum skin directly related to forum... its always hard to guess whats forum about, so skin would give direct impulse to the viewer about the type of content he may find.

    Suggest the background color and text color be updated to be easy to read. The whilte on grey is hard to ready. Made search for good template and stay with the normal white and/or light background with darker text color.

    Just some thought...

    change the color of the ads to the green i.e. similar to the title of the text
