    Hey guys

I'm still new to this, and realize just how long it can take till you can crack the google shell. The site is only a three weeks old, but I would like some opinions on the placement of the ads. Currently the three ads are found

    1. Top right sidebar

    2. At the bottom of featured news posts (usually the ones that say "read the full story")

    3. Mid way down on the right sidebar

Currently I'm getting a lot of low paying ads, and a CTR of only 0.13%. Any help on optimization will be great.

I had read the thread where one user had put images above his leaderboard to increase CTR. I had tried this out today, and it in fact worked to some extent, but I recently read another thread indicating that this is a violating of the adsense rules.

BTW if you are wondering I get around 3-15,000 views a day depending on the content giving me around 3 dollars on a good day, and around 20 cents on a bad day.

In my opinion do the following

Add a 728 x 15 horizontal row immediately below the header this help in dramatically increasing your CTR.

Change the color of your 160 x 600 background to match the red background.

You have opted text and image ad option , change to text only as text ads are far better than image ads.

Try the following tips and see how your CTR increases dramatically.

    1. Make your ads visible above the fold. Statistics have proved that ads which are visible without scrolling generates highest clicks. Another reason is that the ads will look like normal web links that visitors are used to click on them. Also the large rectangle ad format has proven to be the highest CTR generator.

    2. Make your ads blend with your site content. Make sure that your ads background and border color are same as your content background. Ad text and URL should have the same color as that of the font color of your ads. And Make the link color to that of your web pages link color.

    3. Make use of set of special comments to tell the Adsense spiders about your main content. This will help AdSense to serve more relevant ads based on your content. And more relevant content means more clicks.

    4. Write keyword rich, grammatically correct juicy posts. This will make people read them and spiders will serve the best ads related to your keywords. Make sure you have some large content. Don't place ads on pages with 2 lines of content.

    5. Make use of custom channels from your Adsense console. Analyze your stats and tweak settings so that you get the highest CTR. Keep records of all the changes you do and measure your results periodically.

Apply these techniques and you will definitely see a dramatic increase in your CTR.

    Hope this helps you

Site looks beatiful and all to me. Your placement is also wonderful. However, experiment with it much. I suggest also to make the sidebar image ad to text ad. text ads perform the best. you may want to check out my blog too for placement ideas.
