Actually there's nothing wrong with the placement. The only thing which can be done is on the ads blending with the skyscraper ad unit located on the right column.

 

You mean to say that i should move skyscrapper ad from left side to the right side.

 

This site could use some imporvement.

First off the header image does not look professional as it is an image that is being stretched to fit so it looks distorted, however I realize that has nothing to do with your adsense placement.

Since the length of your page is pretty short, I'd say take out all those ugly unorganized image ads, and place a leaderboard google ad at the bottom of your content .

 

Can anyone help me with a free image editor so that i can make a professional looking header image .

 

Changing only the header will not do any good.

Unless you change the domain (make it shorter.. buy a new domain), and the design and the menu structure.. i am afraid this site is not going to perform well with adsense and it will take years to cross the $100 mark.

For image editor.. you can use the Trial version of Adobe Photoshop which can be downloaded from their website.
Or you can use the Free GIMP program.

One more thing, to help you succeed.

In a niche like "extended stay hotels" it is better to target one geographic location per page, because this will give you relevent ads to that geographic location, increasing CTR.

Obviously however, it is harder to make a page full of geographic locations and content about extended stay hotels, rather than making 1 page full of general no location specific content is much easier.

But if you commit the time, you might make enough money to quit your day job.

 

Ok you get one more tip because I really want to help you. Do this AFTER a major revamp of your layout and header so your page is more presentable.

#1 promote your site in forums and blogs that have DO FOLLOW links.(BACKLINKS) The higher the page rank of the blog or forum, the better. Also the relevance of the blog/forum to your niche is also important! Promote at places related to you, they are the most powerful for helping your site grow. It is important that you are sure they are DO FOLLOW links because otherwise they are pretty much useless for promotion. Also, when promoting, don't SPAM, write actual comments and messages. Making 100 blog comments or forum posts on DO FOLLOW websites is good, free promotion.
