Review my site

I'm getting 1% click thru on my site http://gamesontheweb.blogspot.com/ and I can't seem to increase it. Any suggestions?

Note that I don't put any ads within the posts on the home page, but I do put them in for each site page. See this page as an example: http://gamesontheweb.blogspot.com/2006/03/hapland-3.html

Considering most of the traffic that lands on this site lands on one of the internal pages, I don't think it's an issue with restricting the ads on the front page.

 

I always enjoy reviewing fellow Blogger blogs, so here's my two cents...

First of all, the block of pictures next to the ad on your individual post is a violation of TOS. If you don't agree, email Google and ask their opinion.

As far as optimizing your ad placement, I would suggest a horizontal text link unit underneath your "Top Games" links. Second, try placing a vertical skyscraper (with no border) on the left side of the page. Finally, consider placing one of the ads from your individual posts in between the first and second posts on your homepage. Hope this helps, let me know if you decide to implement any of my suggestions.

 

I believe there is enough separation between the two (pictures and ad block) so that there is no TOS violation, but I am following up with adsense to make sure.

After they review it, I will try some of your suggestions, although I've never had a lot of luck with the horizontal text link. But this is a new layout for me, so maybe it will work better on this template.

I like the idea about placing an ad in between the first and second post on the home page, but I'm not sure how to implement it. If I place it below the post in a blogger template, it gets repeated after every post (up to 3, of course) on the home page. Do you know of a way to limit it to just showing up the one time? Or are you suggesting I do so after every post (up to 3)?

 

I know there is a way to make it show only one time, maybe someone else knows how to implement this?

 

I think you should put a vertical line between the ads and images. Nice site though.

and here's my tip. try to put two large rectangle on your main page at the top.

 

Well, I got a response from adsense, but it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. They just gave me what looked like a form letter relating to pictures and ads, rather than actually looking at my particular site... Not helpful.

Anyways, I'm trying out different things now and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the help!
