I think that's the worst ad placement I've seen.

Tip:

1. Align your site to the center.
2. Blend the ad's bg to your site's bg.
3. Put a wide skyscraper on the left or right.
4. Remove the link unit. I can't even see the title.
5. Replace the banner with a large rectangle.
6. Remove the ads below.
7. Add more content

Here's some additional tips for your new redesigned site:

1. Concentrate on just ONE background color (People might get banner blind by the ads on the right - I did)
2. Remove the "Advertise on this site" link
3. Replace the top ad with a 336x280 large rectangle
4. Put another 160x600 wide skyscraper on the left

Not to add on to your agony, but the site is really really badly done..
Reminds me of myself a year back...

dun worry, you will learn and will do so much better..
Dun be afraid to ask, accept criticisms humbly and your learning curve will be very steep for the better..

 

how do you remove it also are you allowed to remove it?

The site looks a bit messey regarding the background colours. I would try and combine them a bit more. maybe white and cream.

You shoud make some changes to the color of ur ads. The title color needs a tweak for sure. Also you might want to place the skyscraper on the top left. CTRs normally tend to be higher for ads on the left. Why ? I guess cuz you read from left to right. Visibility is higher.
