Review my video site

I was wanting to get my video site reviewed before it is officially released monday. Looking to get any advice on the ad placements to get the greatest CTR on a large advertised and marketed release.

That white "Videos watched right now" thingy is really, really too bright given the black background. Change it to black if you can.

I'd put a 468x60 ad at the bottom of each search result page, between the page number and the last result
(example http://www.themusicconnect.com/audio.php?load=recent). This should be more efficient that the vertical baneer on the left. Putting this horizontal baneer after the page count is a loss of money because the users will not typically watch below that page number link.

You can rotate both type of ads for a few days or weeks and see for which one you get the best CTR.

It's also too bad that the size of the main top baneer does not match the size of the page layout. It will help people when they will start to ignore the ads (returning users become ad-blind, and the more the ads stand out from the content, the quicklier this happens)

Site looks good but it took over 30 secs to load on a fast broadband connection.

 

Yeah, this site *really* loads very slowly. But it's a nice looking site. The color scheme is very high contrast, you may think about muting that bright white on black.

 

ok thanks. I am still working on finishing up the website and we are switching servers is one of the main reasons it is so slow so on launch we will be on a dedicated server and right now its on a shared.

Once you switch servers and it loads faster you'll be fine.
The ads seem to be in the sweet spots.

thank you. Once we switch to dedicated should be enough to handle around 10,000 videos at around 20mb each. Should be fast streaming etc. Using a shared server to develop it and get it rolling then switching over.

 

I run a site similar to yours and the Adsense clicks only equal out to be pennies per click. Every now and then you may get $0.15, but the earnings with the site will be pretty low. I recommend you try out a CPM network and compare revenue made.

 

The site is really nice. I love black, nice simple design
