    I'm no expert but to me the placement looks pretty good. If I were to change anything I would try to match the title color a little more closely on the first site. And maybe make the column a little wider so the google ad isn't over lapping the edge.

    I have changed the width now - you can check now and let me know if it looks better.

    As for matching color, i really did not get your point on that - could you please clarify.

    On my screen the color of the title of the ad is slightly different than the color of the links above it. Its very slight on my screen. Maybe its better on yours. Like I said its very slight. Both sites look very good.

    The recipes site looks very good to me.
    In the other site I would add one or two pictures to make it more visually appealing.

    There's nothing wrong with the ad placements. Looks ok to me. The first site really needs a makeover with more colors to make it interesting.
