    Greetings,

I have a new blog at is http://www.ericm.ca. It's mainly about web-development and I wrote a couple of articles within the last week.

I want to keep the design clean and simple, without too much ads, but it doesn't seem to be generating much revenue. Should I change the location of the ads, add more, etc.?

    Thank-you.

You could ad a horizontal leaderboard to the top as like a header.

Maybe change the pallete of the adds to white background and black text so they are easier to see.
I can't imagine many people clicking them the way they are.

    Thanks for the info.

I didn't want the ads to be too obtrusive, but I have made some updates. Check it out please. :)

good to see that there are people who do not want the ads to be disturbing.. :)

firstly CHANGE that ad color to match your site. That is rule number one. Take it this way, someone comes to your blog and is satisfied with the content then he will look for the archives etc to read more content and for that he can do some hardwork if the archives/tags arnt visible BUT he won't search for the ads to click on them. You need to have the ads at a place so that they merge with the content.

Secondly in the single post page you seem to having image ad..change that to text ad. Text ad around text always gets more clicks..always..

In home page you can have image ads (large square) below each post. They are no way disturbing. check my blog CompuWorld (link in signature) and see what I mean..!!

you can subscribe to my feeds if you think my tips is useful :)

Yeah, having the ads in that blue box is like asking people not to go near them. They need to blend more into your site. Change the colors around and maybe add an ad bar in the center of the content as well.

Good advice. I'll try to blend in the ads more. Thanks!
