So you only take advice from someone if they have a high digit in their bank account? I admit to being shallow, but that's just stupid.

He's made at least a few hundred thousand dollars from the ebook alone. That's probably the worst advice I've ever heard and not even valid in this case.

This book is cheesy but you can definitely make big money selling affiliate programs on the web. Guys like shoemoney can take a $28,000 investment in adwords and make a $120,000 gross with just one ad campaign. That's an investment no matter what kind of education you have.

Stupid? Do you suggest taking advice from people haven't succeeded in making money online? Now that is stupid. :D

An example of how to market stuff online, and might apply to those who want to learn how.

When I need to, I'm willing to accept advice from you about how to be totally out of touch with a simple reply and exploded into a senseless judgmental dribble. You're there professor. ;)

    Peace Out. :p

I think he is a millionaire. Its obvious his ebook sales are in xxx,xxx and do you really think his ebook is the only thing he is invloved in? Hes skilled in marketing the trend hes set by playing the jerk role is huge you see ads on adsense with his style all the time and the amount of rich jerk affiliates you see is crazy aswell. To have that many affiliates promoting your product the book obviously sells well otherwise they wouldnt bother.

Have you ever heard of Sun Tzu? A lot of business practices use 'The Art of War' in a business sense as advice, I don't think that many people made money on the internet in 200 BC though. But of course I'm stupid for suggesting that anyone should take this advice?

Senseless? Did I hurt your feelings? Well, take my advice and admit to being wrong.

Fact remains that the rich jerk has made hundreds of thousands of dollars by peddling his ebook to punters, the 'advice' compiled in the ebook isn't worth the $50 (or whatever it is now) price tag, it's the way that the ebook has been marketed which has made the value $50.

No! I intend not 'take' advice from people who aren't in positions I want to be in. You can't make me!

    So there! :p

This article mentions a few sites using the rich jerk method to sell Mystery Shopping products. They basically call the sites scams.

Update: This book (the rich jerk) has been pretty much worthless so far. I use it's techniques ocassionally but I've really gotten good results with sitesell.com's "Make your Content Presell". Pay Particular attention to weaving in links to presell visitors. Once they start trusting your links your Coversion Rates start to soar.

He's only 27 years old and he's got a few million but that's not the point. My point was that the book is incomplete. His sales technique only works when you are getting very specific traffic, like the kind you would buy on Adwords.

If you pick the right keywords you don't really need to use his sales letter technique thus making it worthless, aside from adding a little bit of content and spice to a bland site.

If you aren't getting that type of traffic then the only way to really get the sale is to presell like I mentioned before.

No **** the book wont work for most people. Otherrwise, the jerk himself would go out of business since everyone who bought his book would be talking business away fomr him.

I assume your talking about PPC here, in which case you have completely lost me. If your picking the "right keywords" your simply getting cheaper traffic. You still have to do the correct things when it comes preselling the visitor.

For example, a lot of people use his book to market "paid survey" e-books. If you simply bid on the keyword "paid survey" you could simply use a landing page and get the same conversion rates. That's what most businesses do. Take a look at Survey Monster they use a landing page (although they aren't selling affiliate products). There is some text on the page but that is what I consider a landing page.

Or you could use buy keywords like "Discount blue widgets" and you would get very high conversion rates if you pointed to an affilate with discounted blue widgets. Sure you can use a presell page but you can also use a landing page.

My point is that the sales letter that "the rich jerk" e-book helps you write isn't anything special. I'm not saying that you do or don't need to pre-sell the visitor.

The sales letter that he helps you write has nothing to do with pre-selling. It's anti-marketing but not the same pre-selling that is taught in "make your content pre-sell".
