    My experience is that the ringtone ads come when you have too much mixed content on your page. The pages that have great content have relevant ads, the the pages that have mixed content get ringtones and adsense ads.

    I was under the impression if somebody targets your site with the ads, it doesn't matter about the content. Not an adsense pro, but isn't that the way it works?

    I was fine up until about two days ago - I'm swamped with them on my site. Before my ads were showing relevant stuff, now this crap ringtone stuff.

    In theory at least, high CPM should be good for the publisher.

    This is where I become confused as to why people are angry.

    The AdSense system is designed to display the most profitable ads. If ringtone ads are the most profitable to me as a publisher -- on my page about pine trees -- then let the ringtone ads stay.
