With the rise of oil all over the world I am curious just how many of DPers here actually use cooking oil as an alternative to petrol or diesel?

I think everybody should try it since it is cheaper and the smell is better ( i think your exhaust will smell like chips being fried ).

It is sad that you still need to pay tax if you put cooking oil in your car though!

    solar power is the answer.

We may one day be able to transmit power to earth via microwaves from a space-based solar power station. The only issue is profitability really, and that can be minimized by advances in orbital construction and launch technology.

until then, we should shift more focus to nuclear power, and wait for advances in solar tech to make it more affordable.

Well talk about alternative source of energy (I am not sure if it's an old news to you guys here)
I was quite fascinated by Japan's new innovation on wind driven generators. The wind turbines they were using there were not as big as thw ones we commonly know and with modified forms as well.

But what's great about these stuff is they can run generate energy at the slowest wind speed.
