RSS behaviour of CMSs under article update

If an existing article is updated (ie edited, it's contents changed) in a CMS, does this produce a new RSS entry?

If it does, would that give different entries under the same title in a RSS reader? (assuming the title remains the same)

    Is the behaviour customisable?

We are trying to find an easy, structured way of accessing CMS content offline. The above idea is to use cashed RSS entries through an RSS reader for offline reading. If there are better ways, please, don't be shy!

    Thanks in advance, Mark

Based on my experience, if an article is updated, yes, it produces a new RSS entry.

Try to do a little tweaking of the title so that it appears fresh.
