When I first signed up at myspace.com almost a year ago, I hated it. The site was slow, the search functions didnt always work. After I saw what this guy did and this BBoy didwith their FREE space, I'm running back!

It's all CSS trickery... but I must admit it's pretty impressive considering what you have to do to get it to work like that. :)

They are using some sort of "trickery" to get rid of the advertisement banners:eek: ..I wonder how long it will be before Myspace starts charging?

Just looked at the sites you mention. They are great but they loaded at snail pace. Didn't you say that the speed of the site was one of the reasons you quit the site in the first place?
The external links on bboy are not sites of the same quality - partcularly envus where the text overwrote some of the images.

The first one loaded okay, but looked a little messed up... might be my browser or something. The second wouldn't work (but it did warn against IE)

This comment isn't along the lines of great MySpace design...

but as far as social networking, my affiliate forum moderator Stephen Ralph is using MySpace pretty effectively for his affiliate marketing group. He's getting decent traffic from it and I get quite a few clicks from my links he put up and an article he wrote about me. http://groups.myspace.com/AffiliateMarketing

Those sites are pretty good! Myself, I must say I am addicted with Myspace, along with most of my friends. It's the community above all else that makes Myspace so good, even with the horribly terribly slow loading speeds.

Honestly, MySpace is the only way I keep in touch with most of my friends. I hate talking on the phone and I work so much that I barely venture out from behind the computer. It's nice to be able to leave a little "just thinking about you" message within a few seconds AND so many random people from the past have contacted me via my Myspace profile. Also, I like any reason to give backlinks to my websites ;). Although, MySpace is the most broke ass site ever in regards to errors . Somedays I can't even access it.

    Here is my MySpace page.

I first learned about myspace in a Business Week article.
More recently, myspace was the cover story.
They claim to have over 40 million users.

I don't get it; I have browsed myspace a few times and there seems to be almost no activity in the forums or the groups. What are all these people doing? I see no exchange of practical information, and the site itself is awkward to navigate--even inaccessible much of the time (perhaps their servers are overloaded). If I want to e-mail a friend, I will directly. If I need webspace, I already have lots.

So what, exactly, is the appeal of myspace?

you can build up massive networks and ultimately fans, and traffic from myspace etc.

Have you ever seen that xiaxue site?

She built up a lot of her popularity through these types of programs.
