We run a website and its very successful. A guy used a stolen credit card number and placed an order on 26th November. We helped him and replied to about 10-15 emails questions about how to setup and use our product. We shipped his order (about $800).
On the 20th December Paypal received a Credit Card Chargeback from the credit card holder. The guy emailed me and said somestory about his friend was over in Ireland from UK and they used his credit card. He gave me 2 UK phone numbers that dont work to contact this guy.
I decided to ring the scammer and he does not reply.
I look up the phone directory and get his phone number and he aswers me with "wrong number, wrong number, sorry wrong number".
What can i do about this?

We call the cops. Is your business located in Ireland as well?

Wouldn't your local authorities take action on this? Or are you trying to handle things the "old-fashion" way?

I had someone owe me $1500 once. I set up an auto fax to dial his number every 5 minutes. I got paid.
