seeking a secure php guestbook

The concept of guestbooks is a bit old, but for a personal site they're still really useful, people like to leave messages for people they know! I've already been through a few php guestbooks and within weeks they've been spammed to oblivion. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a PHP/mySQL program that uses some kind of image verification script to prevent spamming and hacking?

secure means you cant be bombarded. with image verification, you can make it worse, someone massively submitting and the server massivly generating new images for verification.

i would consider what you look for as 'human signed' guestbook
