I do it all the time with my Froogle grabber and osCommerce converter. Takes 1 minutes for a 600 page site once you've tweaked your script.

What else is new, I knew they would be from China, Russia, or India. It's really sad that they can get away with it.

There is currently no effective method of stopping this behavior.

    1. The search engines won't remove these sites, unless you legally force them to. In fact, the search engines may penalize YOUR site as being duplicate content.

    2. Upstream providers won't remove these folks, although occassionally a hosting company will.

    3. Inter-state and international lawsuits are impossibly expensive for all but the most profitable web sites.

    If I was a less-nice person...

    What a bummer. :(

On a different note, I noticed your site, www.seekon.info, appears to be very similar in concept and name to www.seekon.com.

Being so similar, wouldn't your use of the name "Seekon" be an infringement on the "Seekon" Service Mark?

This is what they sent me:
In order for Lunarpages to act upon the allegedly infringing material we require the following information:

    1. A physical or electronic signature of the owner of the copyrighted work or an authorized agent of that owner.

    2. identification of the copyrighted work alleged to have been infringed.

    3. identification of the allegedly infringing material sufficiently precise to allow Lunarpages to locate the material.

    4. Adequate information by which we can contact the complaining party specifically including a physical postal address, telephone number and email address.

    5. a proper statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted material is not authorized by the copyright owner, the copyright owners agent or the law.

    6. a statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is true and correct. and

    7. a statement under penalty of perjury that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

    To which I responded :)

    1. You can go to BEACONPOST.COM and see that they have ripped my site and put it up as theirs. This includes the front page of the BEACONPOST.COM site which includes the BEACONPOST.COM logo.
You can see who the owner of the the BEACONPOST.COM site is but doing a whois on the domain name.
    2. They have copied the complete front page of my site.
    3. The whole front page of http://www.asesoresltda.com/
    4. Bob Mutch, POB 263, Aylmer ON N5H2R9, , 519-636-6636
5/6/7. I in good faith belief that ASESORESLTDA.COM is not authorized by Bob Mutch (me) the owner of BEACONPOST.COM to copy my front page and display it as theirs. I make this statement under penalty of perjury that the information is ture and correct and that I am authorized to act on behalf of myself the copyright ower.
    8. There is no federally filed copyright to the particular site.
    9. I demand that action be taken to remove the site which is a copy of my site.

nice site.... can i have a copy too? :D

Its going to get more widespread, especially with forums and easy manageable 'script' sites.

I am pretty sure its possible to reproduce digital point with all its posts in less than a day, would need to build some backlinks though. :)

feeling sorry for you, its a royal pain in the ass when someone STEALS your
    work.

Well the problem is that you can pick up a penalty from the search engines when this happens. I don't really care that they have up a non functioning site, its the penalties that I am concerned about.

but i see its now a 'two problem thread'

you could try and fill your code with assorted
    <----- messages---->

which would make it a pain to remove if someone wanted to steal it.

Yes there is, if a business is from China, India, or Russia or a business does work with someone from there, don't do business with them.

If we shut down their real commerce, they will have to clean it up or their citizens will starve in this business.

I agree, but it's a fact that we are saving money because of them. It's not only that they need us, we need them too.

My web design costs have cut down to 10%, and ABOVE ALL, I get it done faster and better, which I care more then money.
