Yes, Jill and I had a thing going at one time. You've all heard of cyber sex, well what we had going was cyber loathing. She is a self-righteous, close minded arrogant bitch. Reminds me of Minstrel a bit, but Minstrel is better looking.

Postscript: Two or three years ago she was giving out totally erroneous SEO information and advice. I have read some of her stuff in the last six month and it appears she has learned a lot since our loath affair.

Hmmm, I have been subscribed to her newsletter for a little while now. It's nothing revolutionary, but I get some good info from it. I'm still subscribed now.

Yes, I'd never suggest that you shouldn't subscribe. As I say she has learned a lot and changed her position rather radically during the last year or so.

However, if you try to communicate with her one on one and happen to ever question one of her pronouncements, or even worse disagree with her, the wrath of God will come down on you. All I can really conclude is that she is a very insecure person.

I'll acknowledge the gender difference. So I guess you would have to be a close-minded son-of-a-bitch. Take you love affair and defense of Google as an example.

I like things that work the way they are supposed to. For me, Google does that. Virtually all of the complaints I read about Google are basically saying, "My site should be ranking higher than it is"... Google doesn't exist to rank your site. It exists to attempt to present the most relevant page listings it can find for your search term. And bit by bit Google is doing what it can to foil attempts to manipulate that process. That's what makes guys like you angry.

Sorry, but you live in some kind of perfect world...

I have a buddy icons site. I have busted my a*s for 9 months trying to get it ranked, and when I finally did, Google drops me down 5 spots into the second page.

So... I start trying to figure out what the f*ck happened, I type "buddy icons" at Google... and what do I see? #1 is a duplicate site of #8... this scumbag has 2 top-10 spots for the same site (badassbuddy).

And you have the nerve to say that Google is giving relevant results? Google is a pile of s*it... I am as angry as Compar, or even more.

So report him. You're exemplifying my point.

I don't claim Google is perfect -- they are aiming at weeding out the cheaters but there's no question there are moe than a few still around.

I'd like to rank higher than I do for certain search terms too, and yes for some of those search terms I get beat out by a crappy site.

But does Yahoo or MSN Search do a better job of weeding out the crap sites?

Not for the searches I do. Not even close. I don't own Google stock and I don't have a contract with them. If someone came out with a better search engine, I'd jump in a shot. I had high hopes for MSN Search but so far they haven't come close.

And I still get something like 85% of my SE traffic from Google, for all the hoopla and complaints.

He didn't say that google always gives relevant results. He just said that was what google is trying to do. For a lot of things it does, but of course not everything.
