What do people actually do on these events? Talk about SEO and then abuse serious amounts of alcohol?

    Geez,

You'd think Australia was an insignificant little island unworthy of such events.. don't say it !!

I'm analyzing the possibiltiy on going to SES on NYC. I have to invest some good amount of money, so that's why I'm not sure, also I'm a newbie on the search engine marketing field (6 months old) and I'm not making a good amount of money from my websites yet, do you think is worth to go on this event? What about other evetns like the search engine workshops?

I am getting the expo pass, but seriously considering the $595 all day pass.
I called Jupiter Events and was told that there will be over 100 exhibitors including Google and Yahoo. So, just attending the expo is worth it.:D

    I would
definitely NOT recommend pubcon or the ses or any shows to learn how to make money online or even SEO.

Its a great place to make connections with companies like
Google/yahoo and affiliate companies so you can get a person to deal with and get better rates and piece of mind for the cash you are making.

There is much more up to date information here on DP. Usually the only sessions I take seriously are the ones that deal with legal domain issues and like other things which I never thought to pay attention like patents filed...
    ect

    The
exhibitions are good too but if you want to get some good face time with people like matt cutts(like) and other insiders the conferences are good.

I can tell you I have
benefited 500% from people I met at these then from the actual conference.

    I dunno maybe
Nitin, Palespyder, Chachi, or Smndstr can comment what they think.

For Canadians who can't get to this event in NYC, it's coming to Toronto on April 25-26th.
