Sharing with adsense publishers: Importance of Adsense ads blending and placement

Many of us complain that the CTR is low or there are not enough clicks. I had similar problem too. My daily adsense clicks were too low in past few months.

March - 8 clicks per day, April - 13 clicks per day and so on with average of
    15-20 clicks everyday.

I tried to use ad blending and placement effectively. First thing I did is changed the ad color to match with the website color. I like my adsense ad blending with the website. It just gets user attention now.
This increased my clicks substantially in last two months. The clicks per day count rose to 35-40 clicks per day.

One more effective change I implemented and the click count shoot up, I placed that adsense ad unit floating to the right side of the content (Left side would be more effective, but I prefered to the right as one more unit is just up there). I did this last week. And on the first day itself click count was 72. Average click count for last week has grown to 65+. 72 clicks in a day, is my highest uptil now, and also in last 7 days. Yesterday I missed to break this record by 2 clicks only.

I suggest, if you can try this out on your website and let me know if it works for you, that would be great sharing of information. Considering I am a small publisher for adsense, this 100% click rise matters a lot to me and I am sure this is important for every publisher too.

If anyone would like to check out the setup, I did it at www.stock-market-india.net

Please share your experience with it.

You will get a better click thru rate if you place your nav menu horizontal [rather than vertical to the left] and on the next line use the new 728 x15 google ads - then you can use the google ad tower on the left :)

That may not work for my users as they are now used to left side navigation... and without changing the navigation, the click thru sounds good to me.. but still I might like to try that in future...

Maby you could even improve the ctr by adding pictures directly above the ads. I did it with a website and it improved my ctr.

You can disclose earnings, and they aren't going to spank you for mentioning you've got more clicks and that your CTR has improved. Don't sweat it.

The horrizontal link units are an excelent way to improve CTR. But is that pays good as the normal Ads?

I clicked on your sharapova website expecting pics.

    What a disappointment.

How about adding borders or a line between the posts in your stock market site?

did you ever get paid by sedo?
your sharapova website might have problem with sedo.
In their TOS you can't post link anywhere, It is not consider as natural traffic.
I didn't the same things..."earn" 200 buck in a month...and sedo said it is not natural traffic and hold my earning....
