Has anyone encountered this nasty malware and managed to remove it?

I have tried every software on Earth and still can't remove it from my system, it seems to be attacking the registry files, I have deleted all files I could find and still shows up (annoying banners in most browsers...

if anyone knows how to remove it please PM me.

    Tx

I think I did, not sure I'm giving it another go.

ShopperAds is such a nasty malware that infects deep into your registry files, I tried manually deleting files as well, but my guess is that I haven't found all the 'infections'.

    Thanks

I managed to get rid of it, it was something to do with my chrome extensions (ShopperAds possibly hiding behind these extensions?) - Alexa Traffic Rank chrome widget & Quick Time Player for Chrome.

Once I have disabled & deleleted these extensions ShopperProAds just disappeared.

The problems was only in chrome (banner ads on all websites and pop up n every single click)

BTW Avira seem quite popular is this better than other antimalware, antispywware or antvirus programs? Is it worth installing all their upgrades?

    Cheers

One of my computers was infected with AdWare.gen and I had the same issue. I couldn't clean it out no matter what I tried. I was able to remove it manually, however, by accessing the hidden folders. You probably know how to excess your computer's hidden folders, but in case you don't, here are the steps:

    1. Click on the Windows icon / Start

    2. Click on Computer

    3. Double click on Hard Drives OS (C : )

    4. Click on Organize

    5. Click on Folder and search options

    6. Click on the View tab

    7. Select Show hidden files, folder and drives

    8 . Apply / OK

    9. Go back to Hard Drives OS (C : )and double click on it

    10. Click on ProgramData folder (it was hidden prior to that)

Search for any suspicious files or folders. Obviously be careful as it is so easy to delete something that may be part of your OS.

If you, for some reason, unable to delete a suspicious folder, restart your computer in the Save Mode and you will be able to delete it then.

    =============

Also, usually those boogers attach themselves to Chrome and Firefox. After cleaning your OS you may want to remove any unwanted extensions from those two browsers.

Sorry, I guess we posted at the same time. I've been an Avira's user for 4-5 years now. I would definitely install all the updates as they also install updated versions of anti-virus protection with each update.

I know how to find all the computer folders, pretty much master Windows as well however this is very the problem is I am not familiar with all the OS files and folders and didn't want to scr@w anything up. Anyways there are dozens of tutorials on the net to remove ShopperPro Ads, none of them worked for me until I deleted those two extensions above ^^ just wanted to let everyone know what the problem might be

took me a week to figure what's wrong.

Going to give Avira a try ;)

These guys should e illegal and sued, it's such a mess, imagine the damages they produce with their a nasty ads and pop-ups, such a huge concern for all in the online industry and loss of $$.

    Cheers

It took me two days to figure out how to get rid of that AdWare.gen. The stuff online was totally unhelpful. So I feel your pain.

GLAD you've been able to get rid of it!

I had to completely re-install my OS when I was infected with Adware.gen.
