Short-page: Tactic to grab eye-balls and boost CTR

    Adsense allow up to 3 units per page. I've seen so many pages try and maximise the use of the large square units at the top of the page in order to grab attention. It can yield results, but then again there's just the tendency to scroll down and get to the content you've come for.

    So I came up with an experiment for the 468x60 banner ads.

    This is great for short pages because the amount of advert on the page within the content is very high. Also, you want to try this above the fold. Visitors are looking for their answer and then move on - they're busy people. So say you've got an FAQ page - give your short answer surrounded by ads (the paragraph and ads should be of similar thickness - so 60 pixels).

    Try it instead of the large squares on top of your shorter pages - but not if there are images/videos for obvious reasons!
