I was married before and it sucked

 

were you?? Why do I keep thinking your are like 21 or 22 mike? I have no idea.

I keep forgetting you have a daughter aswell.

god ur all grown up. <3 Sob, time just flew by..i remember the day you were running and frolicking around naked on my lawn..

 

I´ve never been married and I never will be. But I have been and I am committed (not, in the loony bin sense, you understand).

We´ve been together eight years, have two kids, have crossed continents together and supported each other through bereavement, illness and happiness and joy too. I don´t think there is much that a marriage certificate could prove that we haven´t already proven to each other.

 

Thanks Mella, I'm 100% positive that we're going to have a happy marriage There's going to be a lot of strain at the start I'm afraid though because we're moving back to Ireland this year and Grace will need to get a job before we can get a mortgage. It'll take a while to settle down but I look at it as a character building challenge lol. If I can get past this hurdle I can't get past any hurdle.

I'm just really looking forward to living with the little lady

I am actually still married, never got divorced. Been 4 years since we've been seperated.

 

Is it a nasty process getting a divorce. I've heard a lot of people who say they are seperated but haven't got a divorce.

Do you think you'll ever get a divorce toots?

 

It's not too bad if you act adult and mature about it. It just get's tricky if one party is not cooperating.

Must be wierd to still be legally married, but not actually be with that person for a whole 4 years. what if u fall in love with someone else and wanna marry them? u have to wait and go through all that legal hoo-haa.

 

dunno, was asking in another thread about common law divorce the other day. It would be nice to find a final solution but so much is at stake. It will be a court battle and drain me financially. I am always trying to ignore the subject until others bring up the subject of marriage and I am like "Oh yeh, I am married .. I guess".

 

then I would prolly get a divorce and be able to deal with the BS

It must be horrible to have all that on your mind every day. Especially after having been happy at some stage with your ex partner to having seperated with court battles ahead of you.

can it not be resolved civily toots?

no, there will be issues about money, ownership of a house, a ton of stuff and we will both be broke after giving all of our possessions to the attorneys.

 

and the only thing in life that ever mattered to me is my daughter and she would be hurt by it, therefor I will just go on and pretend everything is cool for a while
