Should I include paginated results in my sitemap.xml?

I implemented pagination for the blog section on my website. However, Google Search Console is indicating page indexing errors. Should I add the paginated pages to my sitemap.xml file?

Do you want your paginated pages to be indexed? Would users search a specific query with the intent of finding your /page/12/? If so, then let them be "not indexed". Not-indexed pages are not bad for SEO.

Including paginated pages in your sitemap helps search engines discover and index all the pages of your blog section, ensuring they understand the structure and can navigate through the content efficiently. This can help resolve indexing errors indicated by Google Search Console and improve the overall visibility and ranking of your content in search results. Additionally, ensure you use proper pagination tags (rel="next" and rel="prev") to signal the relationship between paginated pages to search engines.

It's generally best to include only the first page of paginated results in your sitemap.xml. This helps search engines find your content without overwhelming them with duplicate or less important pages. Use canonicals for other pages as they explain here: https://rush-analytics.com/learn-seo/seo-pagination-guide
