Should I put links to my blog from my other blogs?

If I open new blogs in the same niche, and put links from those blogs to my blog, how will it work with search engines? Would it help or hurt, or not make a difference?

You obviously can use your website to promote another website. There is nothing wrong.
That means you are taking backlink from your website. Google will take it as an external backlink of your site.
And Your both site will get a backlink. It's not a problem for the search engine. Rather it will help. But don't over-optimize.
