Should I switch to VPS now?

I have between 15 and 25 Wordpress based websites at all times. They are not very busy (some get 10 visitors per day, others get 500).

I am currently using HostGator shared hosting for $9.95 monthly and I am paying on a month by month basis.

However, this price seems too high to me for my needs. Don't get me wrong. I can afford this price. I can afford twice that as well, but as long as it's worth it and it will really make an impact.

My question is, is it worth it for me to switch to a VPS at let's say $20 or $25 monthly, considering the small number of web sites I have and their (relatively) low popularity)? Or a cloud based solution maybe? (although these seem a bit expensive for this situation)

Also, don't advertise your own hosting company or promote one if you are paid to do so, please.

Are you having any problems with loading times, downtime or anything else? If not, then I would stay with your current web hosting plan. If you are experiencing problems with your current hosting, if you switch to a VPS will you want a managed or un-managed account? A Managed VPS costs a bit more than an un-managed.

If your sites are using lots of CPU resources then you should upgrade your package to VPS

Usually higher hosting is preferred for websites with huge traffic and if you want to use custom softwares or applications. Not too sure what made you to think of using a VPS !!!
Well, if you want to cut down hosting expenses then just create a WTB thread under 'Buy, Sell or Trade' section You will certainly get many attractive offers and can save good amount on hosting expenses.
If UK based hosting is fine for you then you can find Managed Hosting services as low as £30.00 GBP/year

I suppose soon you will need to buy VPS. If you are happy with your current web hosting provider I suppose that would be good idea to upgrade within it.You do not know how other hosts work so once you switched that might cause chain of shifts and that might not bee good for your web site at all.

There are many alternatives in the market to hostgator if you think you pay too much but at this moment you should not consider VPS.

Let the sites grow a little bit and check out about VPS later! ;)

Thank you all for the replies. I think I will stick with a shared plan for now.

Deciding whether to switch to VPS hosting depends on your current needs and the limitations of your existing hosting solution. If you're experiencing slower performance, increased traffic, or needing more control over your server environment, moving to a VPS can provide significant benefits. DedicatedCore is an ideal vps host to switch for growing websites, online stores, or applications that require more reliability and performance.

Considering your current situation with between 15 and 25 WordPress-based websites, ranging from low to moderate traffic levels, exploring a VPS (Virtual Private Server) or a cloud-based solution like ARZ Host could indeed be worth considering. While shared hosting like HostGator may suffice for smaller websites, transitioning to a VPS or cloud hosting could provide you with more control and resources, potentially leading to improved performance and stability, especially during peak traffic times.
With ARZ Host's VPS or cloud hosting plans, you can benefit from dedicated resources, enhanced security features, and greater flexibility in terms of software configurations. Although the monthly cost may be slightly higher compared to shared hosting, the added benefits could make it a worthwhile investment, ensuring your websites remain responsive and reliable.
I would recommend researching ARZ Host's VPS and cloud hosting options, comparing them with other providers, and evaluating how they align with your specific needs and budget constraints.

Hey! If your sites aren't very busy, switching to a VPS might be overkill and more costly than needed. However, if you need better performance, security, or scalability, a VPS could be worth it. Another option is to look for cheaper shared hosting plans or managed WordPress hosting, which might offer better performance for a similar or lower price.
