Showing Adsense ads based on keywords you define

    I saw a script where you can enter a keyword and Adsense ads related to this keyword will show up on your page.

    Example: You add "real estate" in the script and page about real estate will appear on your page.

    The mediabot crawler does not need to crawl your site, you decide which ads appear.

    Do you think it's worth to give it a try?

    How would you feel if you were the advertisers?

    I'm not so sure about this meeting the adsense TOS. If it even works. Use at your own risk.

    http://pagead2.googlesyndication.co...utput=html&channel=6781274234&url=real+estate

    this is just an example of how it can be done. I'm sure if you work from here you can integrate the content even as a usual adsense link instead of the keyword based search:

    for example, you could try this in your adsense code:

    ...
    google_ad_client = "pub-63901";
    google_ad_width = 250;
    google_ad_height = 250;
    google_ad_format = "250x250_as";
    google_ad_type = "text_image";
    google_ad_channel ="";
    google_page_url = "real+estate";
    ...

    would love to get some feedback, I just don't have the time and motivation to test - surely interesting - stuff like this myself.

    edit: the link won't work (probably a unique link?) , so neither will the posted adsense code suggestion. I'm not deleting this anyway, maybe somebody can pick up my thoughts and go on.

    I saw a script just like this at www.google.com. Just type your keywords into the text box, hit search, and sponsored links will show up on the right side of the page.

    In all seriousnous, this type of script will get you banned unless your are using AdSense for Search on your site.

    Changing the script is against the terms, and this would definitely (and unfortunately!) be against the terms.

    I don't see a problem showing las vegas ads on a site about music. A "music" click will give you 0,02
    a las vegas click 1,80
    If people interested in music visited your site and they see the las vegas ad and click on it they are also interested in las vegas.

    I think the closest legal alternative to what you're talking about would be the section targeting feature of adsense. Let's say you have a page and you write one article about cats and another article about dogs. If you want more ads to show up about the dogs article than the cats article, you can "section target" (a.k.a. emphasize) it by putting this before it...

    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    and this after it...

    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    Google will add more weight or importance to this section so more ads will show up about it. You can read more about it here...

    I was thinking of section targetting too. It's really the only legit way to force types of ads.. and then it doesnt always stay with in the section start and end comments... just uses them as a guide from what I have read.
