IMO, you could not ask for a better, more agreeable, eager to please, easy to train dog than a Golden Retriever - living with one now.

    Not noisy. Not yappy.

One problem: I think if anyone ever tried to break into this house, she'd think, "Great! A playmate!" and bring him a toy.

When I get tired of him, I turn him off...

He needs no Vet, nor feeding, nor walks... He does not pee on the floors or Poop, no fleas, no barking...

    "Batteries Not Included"...

    hehe :D

You couldn't do better than an English bull terrier (see avatar).
In fact I'm looking for a new home.
    Good looks,faithful,hates burglars,and I can read,write and type.
House trained and the girls just love me.
Only drawback is that I smoke.I have tried to give it up but just felt like I was barking up the wrong tree.

Retrievers are good when they're trained and used to discipline. I used to own a dog walking business and retrievers can grow so strong and obstinate that they're dangerous.

Being so excitable and love-hungry they can be all over you and strangers and if they see something that they want when on a lead even a big guy like myself can have trouble controlling two of them.

But then that's the same for most large dogs really. The problems is with the owner encouraging bad habits that are cute when they're tiny and a menace when they're older and got a mind of their own.

yeah i ahve had goldens all my life, think we are on my 5th one now. They do like to bark through the gate a strangers but i think this is this case with most dogs i come accross. They are quite attention seeking too, but thats can be percieved as a loving dog. The biggest problem i have with mine when walking him he will jolt to the floor to sniff things or pick something up. As said before though the thing is how well you train the dog, and they are pretty easy to train.
