Hi, I want a simple CMS to develop a website for my client. I want such a CMS that i don't need to do any insert, update and delete functions and i should be able to implement my template easily to CMS. No Joomla or Membo they are pretty complicated i need a very simple CMS.

    Thanks in advance.

To be fair, I did find there was a bit of a learning curve if you've never used a CMS before, but I agree with the above - Wordpress is great, easy to use once you've got it going, and has a lot of useful features. Good luck!

MODX gets my vote. It's faster than wordpress and has better page management. On the other hand if you want the best blogging platform also as part of your site then Wordpress should be your favourite.

I've been hearing more about MODX. All the reviews are good, but I haven't heard many details. What do you like about it?

MODx I like very much because the SEO technology is sleek, MOD-rewrite active straight on installation. It is also very fast. You'd find it hard-pressed to realise it's not a straight HTML site ... have a look at a local resident association I did recently using MODx ... http://www.cloughhall.co.uk

The back office is also a cinch to use, which is great for end-users.

I acknowledge that it's a young CMS .. but it's very powerful and has some great plugins already.

We're building a new site with it at the moment and have the cool MaxiGallery to do the picture management.

Wordpress here too, it's really simple to set up, use and customize. You can use it as a full-featured CMS too, setting the default page to a static page instead of the regular chronological post order home page. [IMG]
