Actually I doubt you are banned

    Looks to be poor coding.

HTML errors cause bots to leave more often than not.

Each of your links to your calculator pages is wrong.

    <a target="content" href="./calculator/per_table_e.html">Periodic Table of the Elements</a></li>

As you can see above there is a dot before the directory slash which I believe is not code compliant.

From the looks of your site this is not the only issue.

PS - for a PR lesson... even though his site is not in Googles index he still has his PR of 2 till Google updates the next time.

    Peace

    Result: Failed validation, 93 errors

    Go here

    http://validator.w3.org/

Place website URL in box that states: Validate By URL

    Press enter.

    Have fun.

Remember - Broken HTML code causes bots to leave websites quicker than anything else.

    No need for guessing anymore.

Your site was removed from the search index for javascript redirection.

If you are willing to clean up your practices, please submit a reinclusion request at www.google.com/support/bin/request.py

You can select "I'm a webmaster inquiring about my website" and
then "Why my site disappeared from the search results or dropped in
ranking," click Continue, and then make sure to type "Reinclusion
Request" in the Subject: line of the resulting form.

If you don't remove any and all unethical code from your website I will not be able to help you. Consider this a favor.
