Site with 1000 Uniques a Day - What's Best Way to Monetize?

Discussion in 'General Business' started by tweetylover8402, Jul 9, 2006.

I have a site that gets 1000 uniques a day (mainly through PPC advertising) and am wondering what's the best way to monetize the site.

I also have a questionaire on the site to get people's questions about that topic and have gotten about 500 responses so far.

I'd rather not give the niche away, if possible.

    Here are a few ideas:

    1. Squeeze page w/free ebook based on common questions & weekly newsletter to keep people coming to the site. What would be the main site behind that squeeze page & best way to monetize? (How would we recoup our PPC advertising cost, because it is pretty big to do this everyday?)

    2. Sales copy with ebook.

    3. What else?

    My Opinion:

    1. Google Adsense
    2. Affiliate programs like ShareaSale.com

It's kind of hard to suggest a specific method to monetize the site that would work beyond the general stuf (like Adsense, affiliates, etc.) if you don't want to say what your site is about. How would we know what to suggest if we don't know what your visitors are coming to you for? Seems kind of an impossible question that won't get you very good answers.

Then again, if you just want general suggestions, then use Adsense, affilaites, etc etc.

it would be difficult to answer you if we do not know your niche. But what i advice is to build your opt-in list. Generally, we would say adsense or amazon. But that would not be viable as you are already using PPC to generate your traffic. Unless you can get a good profit margin and have a bigger traffic volume to generate more profit. That's the best I can say without knowing your niche.

Google will then ban you Adsense account. I would recommend using GhostCPA.

Yep, putting a CPA offer on the site is a great way to go and also to really help you offset the cost of your PPC advertising, you could offer companies who are related to your niche to rent a space on your site on a monthly basis. You could charge them $200 or more per month.

Prove and show them that you are receiving 1000 targeted uniques per day and they will absolutely want to put themselves in front of that traffic.

If you're using PPC for the visitors, Adsense might not be a good idea. If you are getting higher returns with it, keep using it :) I would suggest putting up a product for sale so that it doesn't look like arbitrage.
