    Hello,

I've been reading these forums for a couple of weeks and have learned alot. If you review my site I'm sure you'll agree I have much more to learn. The idea behind my site is provide useful content for people who have or are considering creating a small home based business. This is a fun hobby for me but I would like to at least get to the point where I'm making a little to cover hosting, etc.

I have adsense on most of the pages, which I'm beginning to wonder if it's overkill. I would greatly appreciate any feedback regarding the adsense placements and the overall look and feel of the site- if people don't get past the first page then no one will be clicking on the ads.

    Thanks for your help!
    My site is: www.webresourceshop.com

Your site's overall feel is ok, but the adsense ads are not placed/ formatted well.

    • Try removing the borders on the box ads below.
    • Shift them slightly higher in the page and blend the colors.

This should be a starter. I also learnt the hard way... Now I can blend well. Fairly okay CTRs... One of my sites (recently built, not much content, but look at design).

    May be that helps.

To greatly improve your CTR (as in my experience) you should rather place a horizontal ad (like a leaderboard) above or in between your content instead of the skyscraper at the far right site, which will hardly be noticed.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I will experiment with blending the ads and moving the position of the ads. Medusa's ads blend incredibly well - that's what I'll shoot for. I'm also going to try to the leaderboard ad in the middle of the content. Thank you both again!
