Sitemap is not helping me to get Indexed. Why?

    Dear Friends,

    With all discussion going on here I came to know that Sitemap is generating good business for you guys.

    I had submitted one sitemap last week around 8 days back. Everything was OK with status OK.

    But I am still seing only Home page of my site indexed. Why this is happening. I am using the script for Sitemap which was discussed in Google Sitemap FAQ. IS there any problem in using that script.

    Please Help.

    Do you have any links pointing to your site?

    Google may not crawl or index the rest of your site until you do, despite having a sitemap.

    Only a Google sitemap is not enough, you need to have good internal linking structure and a good on-site sitemap. Are you using images as your navigation system? did you use imbedded links on your homepage? Also, try to acquire at least 1 or 2 quality links to your site (the site that links to your site has a PR of at least 4, of coz that does not justify the backlink to be a "quality" backlink)

    i hope u have done the site map right ... and btw it will take some time for all the pages to get index .. so wait ... cuz i seem to have observed thth google sitemap doesnt get u instant indexing of your pages

    actually, I noticed that google is very slow indexing my website. and everytime, it only take a few pages. is there any way to speed it up?

    definitely get back links especially if the topic is on the subject of your site. I mangaed to get indexed in google in 3 days. I have been promoting my website everyday started out with 80, 100, 200, now im at 392 uniques just promote!

    Now there are 8.9 million sites, so google needs time to crawl sites. It crawl a site depending on it's trust factor. Build more links for your site and wat for another 30 days to get it crawled!!!
