SitePoint Forum Banned Me - WHY?

Hello,

I am like now to kill MOD who banned me on sitepoint forum. Last week i got an email saying that stymiee (MOD) banned me. I don't know why even they never sent me any notification. I think this is not the right way to ban forum member without any warning and it's just on first time.

I remember last week i added a new article on my site about new idea of promotion and then i posted it on sitepoint to let others know about it. I think i posted here too. But they banned me and i think i done nothing wrong. I was not promoting my own site basically. I was telling about that promotion idea in the related category of promotion techniques.

After two days i then sent email back to stymiee asking why he banned me and why not warned me before banning but got no reply. Then yesterday i used my friends username to get into SP and i made a thread in support section to un-ban me and told that stymiee banned me without warning and without telling any reason. Today i checked the post and it's not there. Some one deleted my post.....i then made one another thread in support section and asked the reason and requested to un-ban me. But after few minutes i got a PM from stymiee saying that don't made another thread. I asked him why you banned stormy (me) and he replied it's between SP and stormy then i told him that i am stormy so please un-ban me and if i done anything wrong please i appologize.

But now even i can not access my friends account which i was using to tell the situation. I think stymiee banned me here with my friends account too. WHY?

I used contact info page to tell this to SP but getting no response even sent PM to aspen (sp admin) but got no response.

I like to be there and it's really bad stymiee banned me even not telling me reason and even i applogized without any reason.

Can you help me? Please if you are member of SP then please tell this to owner of SP and please un-ban me there.

Just get a new ip and register a new name.

It sounds like you put a link to an article on a site you owned rather then posting the actual article itself. They get annoyed at that kind of thing.

Then they banned your friends account because you were using it instead of him.

I don't think anyone here is going to ask them to unban you. Either register a new name or just post here instead.

 

I forced them to ban me because they engaged in censorship and stupidity, I exposed the administrator there and here and called him on censorship!

What did you do?

My war was over the silly cover ups (removing threads that management could not dispute or put up valid arguments against) and the lack of editorial integrity that results from censorship!

 

i agree if i done that wrong they could first warn me not to do this again and then even when i appologized then what? if i do something wrong in this forum and then i appologize and admit my mistake i think admin or mods will consider it or just will kick me out?

i will make another account and stymiee will ban me again (i know and i can't waste time just because of him).

 

I am sure he will be here just like Aspen visited to comment on me when he banned me

 

ooh really. well then i will wait for aspen. actually i am not here to fight but this is wrong. i want to be member of sp because i get some business and ofcourse visitors on my sites and on last i learn some new things like i learn here.

why i want to be un-ban with my existing account stormy because i use the username on mostly all forums.

i know stymiee is moderator and he has full rights to ban me but this does not mean to be GOD.

 

Well he should be here to defend himself, that is what Aspen claimed to be doing when he showed up, our war is over, maybe Aspen will unban both of us

 

we will see.....i think aspen will un-ban me. because i find nothing wrong here or against anything.

 

Hmm too much censorship imo is the first step towards the downfall of a forum.

Not much here, I see little or can't prove it if it has ever happened at DP, but I am on the watch for it, I'll let you know if it happens

 

They probably thought you were linking to your own site, and self promotion isn't allowed. Let me guess, you didn't have a huge post count over there!! I once got a PM when a post was deleated...for linking to one of my sites in a post. So they don't even let da Official King link to his site!!!

I don't think taking it public in another thread was the smartest move. You should have read the TOS to see if you had breached them, identified the reason, sent an email explaining your mistake with an apology and a promise not to do it again and waited patiently for a response. Imo, that would have went a long way towards getting your account reinstated.

 

Tbh...who cares man!!

DP is way better than that hellhole anyway.

I think I went there before in support of Nintendo and abused a few of the geeky members.

 

You can get lost over there easy, bored (Mella would be for sure) real quick too!
