Sites for money?

I think you need to re-read Shoemoney's comment: "making sites for hits or money"... I think he meant that "hits" equals a readership, in other words, who would bother to make a site about their memoirs, put it on the Internet, and then fail to promote it at all, thus equaling 0 hits, no readership, and no return on the time invested.

 

I think my point stands; for some people, the reward is in the investment of time and effort in making the site and having it exist, rather than getting people to read it.

 

OK... I'm just glad I don't know any people like that ...I mean I could sort of understand that, but then, why upload it to the Internet at all, if it's really like a "personal & private intranet" anyway

with those ads i can pay my server without a problem and i dont have to worry about how im going to pay my server next month lol

 

I would never place any ads on my site. Because I'm afraid that people will think I made the site for money.

 

I think it's becoming more and more difficult to build a quality site which competes with all the other sites out there in a short space of time. It would be hard to throw up a quick site that just shares information that would actually be read by anyone.

What I mean is that at the end of the day people need to make a living by which means they may use a few adverts to do this.

The point I get frustrated with is where people splatter ads all over their sites and you can't get any content at all
