ski resort website placement

I have decided to target my adsense on the hotel pages of the site to reduce advertising clutter so frequently associated with websites these days. My question is that they often seem to come up with countries or things totally irrelevant to the actually site's content, for example my site is about ski resorts in France and it often comes up with things for the Czech Republic, America or Canada which is inappropriate.

What can do to improve the results that adsense displays? To see the adsense I'm specifically referring to, you need to navigate to the hotels&apartments or chalets subpages of the site.

My last question, is such targetting on subpages sensible for my aims here? Or should I focus more on the front page and maybe tone down the affiliate marketing focus on the upper pages? I'm not sure really but any insights you have would be very much appreciated^^

What I would do is place less affiliates button in the inner pages and more adsense ads (since there is lots of text content, people will be focused on reading text -> hence the contextual ads rather than the affiliates buttons). For the pages with more photographs heavy content, I would add your affiliates buttons there.
