Slashdot: the post jiggling boobies reality.

    About 6 weeks ago my site mad slashdot and after checking my earnings at the end of the day my wife was so excited she started jumping up and down and her boobies just now stopped jiggling.

    Whith nothing left to look at I decided to look for trends in my earnings when the post jiggling boobies reality of the slashdot effect hit me.

    On the day I hit slash dot I had about 50x the normal visitors but only 10x the normal earnings. It was great at the time but...

    After that day I noticed the my earnings/click started dropping eventually bottoming out at about 1/2 what they were pre-jiggling. They have recovered again to pre-slashdot ave. levels about a week ago which means 5 weeks of 50% earnings.

    So let's pick $10.00/day.
    In 5 weeks I'd make $350.00 normally
    The slashdot way: 1 day @ $100.00 & 34 days @ $5.00 = $270.00.
    (Note: I picked $10.00 as a random base.)

    Now this is very simplified as my traffic has changes as have my daily earnings. Although the ave. $$$/click did drop pretty quick, it wasn't overnight, but doing some serious calculations the above figures are pretty close.

    Seems to me those jiggling boobies were pretty expensive although your experiences may vary.
