Slow AS Day?

Discussion in 'Reporting & Stats' started by www.AmCy.org, May 1, 2005.

Is anyone else having a slow AS day?

Over the past 2 or so years, I've noticed that my traffic goes way down whenever the weather in the NE United States is very pleasant, like today (65 degrees and sunny.) Anyone else notice this trend?

Hmmm...Oh well. That theory is out the window. I'll try to work on another theory.

You know, I have this other theory that matter and energy are really one and the same (<---much better theory.) Anyone concur?

Yup, both yesterday and today are slow. While working online yesterday I noticed that my ads were not displaying for about 2 hours. Strange I do run Alternative url...still nothing showing. It's almost like the ad server was down

I emailed them and got back the canned response and they're displaying fine today, from what I've seen.

Yeah, same thing happended to one of my sites last month. No ads and my ALT banners weren't displaying either. They fixed the problem pretty fast though.

My adsense & other "adsense" type ads are bombed + general traffic is way down except for my hobby site. I am based in UK & its a B/H weekend, so read in what you may - maybe your traffic is influenced by UK ?

I did exceptionally well today. Especially odd, because normally things drop way off on the weekends for me. Usually Monday and Tuesday are my best days.

As everyone knows B & M retail's slow time is summer. This can carry over online as well. Some retailers will cut their ad budgets in the summer, and then crank it up again in the fall.

Say your theory isn't way out there, but there are so many other factors than could be affecting it, like your niche, geographics, changes to your site, SE rankings, etc.

So AS is a zero sum game? Hmmm...I don't think it is (IMO) but I'll have to think about it...

Adwords is a negative sum game...I lost 22 bucks with adwords this month..well that is only 1/2 the cost of one of my 'incredible adsense systems', its still sucks AS_S.

I think it depends primarily on the topic. Certain topics will be searched for more often throughout the week (IE Surfing or any outdoor related topic) and then people will go out and do said outdoor activity on the weekend. Business terms are also likely do be searched for during the week (IE Insurance terms or the like).

    Just my opinion.
