Slow response times on AWS

    Hi all,

    Our main issue is that we have a site, on a dedicated Hosting, and the load times are acceptable.

    Our main Goal is to be able to migrate our sites to Amazon.

    While using Firebug to track the loading times, we are seeing this output at the dedicated Hosting:

    We have cloned this site to an Amazon instance, using RDS and a Load Balancer, and when we load the site, we see the following timings:

    I would like to understand (so we can avoid!) why are we seeing that "GET" request at the beginning, and why is it taking from 6 to 7 seconds to load.

    Any help will be much appreciated.
