Small business web presence shopping list

My wife runs a small aromatherapy business in two locations. She wants to refresh her web presence and also make marketing easier.

What should she be looking to do?

I specialise in writing articles for financial products, so although I could simply start buillding something, I'm sure to miss out on a few tricks unless I get some advice.

Run special promotions / discount sales and list them on craigslist in the services / beauty section. If done right your ads will stick (craigslist is full of overzealous people who will flag anything they don't like left and right). Craigslist is probably the best free option, at your disposal, for bringing in local traffic.

Also, did you guys try AdWords? You should try AdWords for local business. They offer some free and paid options to increase findability of local businesses.

 

You will have to bear with me regarding "aromatherapy business." Is it a storefront that people visit for aromatherapy or is it a store that sells aromatherapy products or is it both? It matters because in one case you are trying to drive traffic to your facility and in the other, an ecommerce system might provide a big boost with online revenues if you drive traffic there, instead.
