SMS Text Script Problem

Discussion in 'General Business' started by Kirby6, Dec 12, 2006.

I have a script that sends SMS text messages (bought it here cheap actually), but in order to send, you have to choose the calling company of the recipient. Now most of you probably don't know what phone service all your friends have, so it seems pretty useless.

Is there any way to change it so there's just 1 gateway? Or do you know of any scripts that require no phone service aquisition? I've searched around a lot, and have only found 1, but at the end of every text it says "www.teleflip.com".

    Help would be great, thanks.

I have seen a few for sale that featured "auto-detect".

Well the problem you are going to have is that a lot of numbers that are LNP'ed from one provider to another are still going to show the originial provider. For example, my telephone number was chosen when I was a sprint PCS customer. Now that I moved several carriers and are on Cingular, when you search my number, you get Sprint which is not right.

    http://www.fonefinder.net/
This site will tell you which carrier they are on and if they are a mobile number or not.

Make a list of identifications of the mobile companies through the number itself, that'd help
