So is it okay to make a company myspace profile or not?

I keep having trouble keeping up with myspace...does anyone know whether they now allow companies to create profiles?

if you want a company profile, ur better off using a service such as ryze, or another social networking site that caters to businesses or professionals. Myspace doesn't cater to a professional crowd

yes, company myspace sites are ok. Your amount of success depends on your market.

There is no rule against MySpace accounts for companies; as long as you don't abuse the system.

    i gots one: http://www.myspace.com/newspositive

i haven't even launched my site yet, but to my pleasant surprise a bunch of people seem to be interested in it.

so yeah, they definitely allow that sort of thing and tons of people do it! it's not perfect for every scenario, but some of the pages that i've seen become very popular are for things like: specialty restaurants, specialty clothing stores, specialty organizations...

something very targeted always seems to do well. for instance, i just launched a broadly targeted job site, but i don't go near myspace with my job site. however, i think myspace to be a perfect fit for my news project.

I was just confused because I keep hearing about myspace lashing out at spammers in court, and I didn't know whether making a company profile is considered spam.

I've seen several non-profits on MySpace, but other than that, you should better ask in MySpace itself.
    Good luck,
