Social Bookmarking to drive traffic?

Hi All,

I was just wondering about the benefits of social bookmarking to drive traffic to your website. If someone could explain how the process works . What social bookmarking stategies do people employ.

Social Bookmarking/networking is an entire forum dedicated to itself. The basics are that you use these mini-sites as forums or funnels to direct traffic to another site, which you could generally use to funnel everything to your money maker. You could use facebook, myspace, twitter, friendfeed, tumblr, del.icio.us, squidoo, hubpages, etc.

The options are getting greater everyday.

i have used this to drive traffic to my new sites. It has not resulted in many sales but i have not targeted the right niches for my product. A bit time consuming but it works.
