Social Media Marketing can be achieved effectively either by Forums or blogs?

    Hi, i am running a small s/w development co, where I would like to do Social Media Marketing (SMM) for my client. My client has a product, which gives atleast 50 benefits to the users. So I am in the planning of enabling Forums to my client's website, as users can navigate those benefits/sub-benefits and post a thread.

    Also I am planning to link all the threads to selective Social media sites.

    As per my understanding Forums are easy to navigate, for large number of tasks. Please suggest if Blogs are more useful than Forums in customer friendliness and effective achievement of SMM
