    1. First, you must find out which sites your customers are likely to use, and set up profiles on these sites. It is best to join more than one site so your customers have several options if they want to subscribe to your social media marketing campaign, but do not join too many sites or you will have a hard time managing your campaign.

    2. Plan your social media updates ahead of time. You can use social media to draw attention to a certain product or a discount you are currently offering, but your subscribers will quickly lose interest in your campaign if everything you share looks like an ad. Use social media to share useful content such as links to your own blog articles or to other websites your audience will be interested in. Make sure you use different formats for your updates, such as pictures or videos.

    3. Make your social media marketing campaign more interactive. Share content your subscribers will react to, and encourage people to send you questions or comments via social networks. Try starting conversations by asking people their opinion on a topic or asking your subscribers to tell a funny anecdote. Let people know you would appreciate receiving pictures of the products they bought from you and thank the customers who share content with you by giving them a discount and featuring their content.

    4. Offer incentives to generate more interest for your social media marketing campaign. You could, for instance, launch your social media marketing campaign by offering a small immediate discount to your new subscribers or by organizing a contest and asking people to like your Facebook page for a chance to win a free product. Use social media to share coupon codes or exclusive information about new products and discounts and you will get better results for your campaign.

Some business owners join social networks without any precise ideas of what they want to accomplish with their new campaign and end up not generating any sales via social media. You need to establish some realistic goals in terms of outreach and sales numbers before launching your social media marketing campaign. Keep track of how many people buy products after following the links you share on social media or of how many customers redeem the coupon codes you post on social media to get an idea of how efficient your campaign is.
