    Well Certainly social networking is useful as far as SEO is concerned and dragging targeted traffic is concerned. If you have god profile with them and you know what you are doing then certainly you can do well with them.

    Wrong, social networking is good to get people to know your site and bring referrals. But all the links in those sites are NOFOLLOW, so there's no SEO benefit.

    Personally I like Facebook and the traffic that it brings to my site. However, you need to make sure that your contacts or friends there have the interest in the topic that your site is promoting. Next, I like how Twitter is affecting my site as well. Read a few weeks back that soon, Twitter will allow it's messages to be indexed by Google. Right?

    Social Networking sites help to bring traffic to your website. Yeah some of SN sites help in SEO but basically I participate for my business promotion and spread the word of my business there.

    There you can directly find and connect with the people of your local area (city/town), if your business is based on local users.

    I am doing Social Networking since last 3 years and I haven’t seen any negative effects of social networking.

    Social Networking is very good for site traffic. I am doing social networking for my all client sites. So don’t worry about that social networking good for SEO

    I think Social networking and bookmarking is good way to get more traffic for our site, but should also do dofollow blog commenting and directory submission to build you backlinks. Both things are very essential in SEO.
