I think some sites allow you put html code in your bio. There you can put an anchor text with your keyword I guess

I don't agree because social networking site are not only to generate traffic it can use to connect to some friends and relatives, earn money by selling some stuffs and also promoting your website.

To have any meaningful traffic from those social networks you will need to have lots of followers or friends (targeted). That takes time. But be careful no to spam them (Facebook) or you will get your account suspended.

But I think it'll be definitely worth it to have some NoFollow links: 1. drive traffic 2. make your SEO look more natural.
